Live on Twitch now! - Main Task
Twitch layout
Hi again!
During this course, I finally started Twitch streaming! I have wanted to start it so long! I was excited of new platform and new kind of audience, and that's also why I didn't start streaming to youtube. "But you have already audience on youtube?", Twitch just is new to me with all these new tools to make streaming more interesting. I love customizing, and in twitch there is so much things that you can customize like custom emotes! So now I will take you with me to customize my Twitch layout.
Description
I started by setting up my stream description or profile? I'm not sure what it is called, but for me it is description. The description has all the important information about your channel, because there are not many other places on Twitch to put information. I built my twitch channel around purple cloud theme. I always tested my drafts how them look like on Twitch.
The titles I chose were: Welcome, About Me, Socials, Support, Credits & Thanks and Q&A. I also added cute donations button and my Instagram and Twitter timelines.
On Twitch, you can follow for free or subscribe for a certain amount per month.
As a follower, you can receive notifications when new live is starting, a popup follow notification to the stream, and my thank you for it, and the opportunity to participate in followers-only activities.
As a subscriber, you get not only the follower benefits, but also custom emotes to use in any live chat and a special subscriber badge in front of your name in the chat as a sign of your support. It is up to each streamer to decide what benefits subscribers will get. For example, I was thinking of sending an Christmas cards to my subscribers.
These customizable sub badges and emoticons were perhaps the biggest thing I was excited about! It's a super cool idea to design your own emoticons! However, I don't feel that I'm the best what becomes drawing something, and I really wanted these to be perfect. I wanted to support Finnish artists, but I didn't know many or how many who would be interested at the moment. I also had a specific drawing style in mind that cut off a lot of artists I knew. So I did a poll on Instagram stories where I asked Finnish artists to contact me if they were interested in collaborating.
And there was one who had been following me for a long time on youtube and I remembered her drawing that she gave me on convention a long time ago. I didn't know hers current Instagram account and I was so glad that she messaged me! Badges and (currently one) emoticon, are made by sweet Taidaneko. Two emoticons are still unfinished.

I wanted to do Christmas event to boost my new channel, because people usually find you from "currently streaming page" and every time you are live, the more chances you have people to find you! Here I tried to do little advent calendar, but I ended up doing it more informative.
Result:
Stream scenes
This is where you want to focus on if you want to look interesting to new viewers. I use OBS Studio for streaming and I spent a lot of time doing different scenes because I knew it would make my stream look professional. That's how I get the attention of new viewers so that they stay watching for at least a moment.
Also, I took the opportunity and streamed the process! It was really nice talking with the chat at the same time and they were able to give their opinions in real time. Watch it here
Actually, I wanted to do animation, but I don't have any animation program on my computer. However, when I was streaming, someone in the chat told me that Photoshop can do a little animation too! I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't done this in the stream! So I managed to do just the right animation for my scenes, just how I wanted!

| I made an animated winter theme, and I connected the cloud theme. It also has featured Instagram art accounts. I took my favorite Pokemon Wooloo (sheep) as my stream mascot! ♥ |
In Stream Labs, scenes look like this.
I also edited Chat scene and added different kind of layouts for different purposes. I'm not happy with this yet. I just reused the background of my videos ending and added a chat box. However, it works just fine!
